Riverside County Entertainment & Recreation
There are some incredibly fascinating places of interest to be found within the county. The California Citrus State Historic Park does much to preserve the legacy of the fading citrus industry in California. Going back to the time that “Citrus was King” it recognizes the importance of this era in Californian history, when settlers rushed to the era to begin growing oranges, lemons and grapefruit.
In 1979, the March Air Force Base Museum was founded. It was originally administered by the Air Force, but has since been transferred in to the hands of a nonprofit making organization. This
Riverside museum has aircraft on display dating back several decades, including a full size replica of a P-38 lightening, a defining aircraft of its era.
Naturalists are spoiled in
Riverside County, as much of the land is still undeveloped, much of it desert or prairie. Forming the southernmost part of the Santa Ana Mountain Range is Santa Rosa Plateau; this area of outstanding natural beauty is home to a myriad of rare plant and animal life, a true haven for nature lovers. Located in Palm Desert is the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. Established in 1970, this 360 acre wilderness reserve also houses a botanical garden and a zoo which specializes in desert wildlife such as large lizards and snakes. It is believed that this zoo is the only one in the world that dedicates itself entirely to desert dwelling wildlife, and has recently begun to house animals from deserts all around the world.
Riverside offers much in the way of
entertainment and
recreation. You are sure to be pleased with the myriad of options that surround your home.
Riverside County is vast, if you love wide open spaces and a warm climate then this could be the perfect place for you.
