Riverside Entertainment

Like any large urban city, Riverside comes equipped with the whole range of recreational and entertainment facilities we have come to expect in the modern world. From extreme sports to fine dining, the City of Riverside has it all. If you are considering moving to Riverside or have already purchased Riverside homes, you will not be disappointed with all this Riverside County community has to offer your family.

Riverside Amusement Parks & Family Fun Centers

Let us start by taking a look at family fun in Riverside. Within the town boundaries can be found three separate amusement parks. Pharaoh’s Lost Kingdom is an Egyptian theme park, with restaurants and event stadium, it also has a water park and many child orientated rides. Scandia Amusement Park is a more traditional adventure park, with its fair share of extreme rides and special events. Finally we have Upland Family Fun Center; this park is all about family fun as a unit, with activities that can be enjoyed by all family members of every age group.

Riverside Performing Arts

If the arts are your thing, then you may find the California Theater of Performing Arts is right up your street. This world class theatre puts on a very full schedule of musicals and traditional plays, as well as seasonal pantomime for the children. If you like amateur dramatics, check out the Fontana Mummers Community Theatre, who not only encourage local residents to get involved with their productions, they also run youth appreciation work groups to encourage young people to enjoy the theatre.

Riverside Museums

Riverside has a variety of sites which would grab the attention of those interested in history and heritage such as the Wignall Museum & Gallery which runs regular exhibitions throughout the year. The Riverside Metropolitan Museum is a more traditional style of museum which portrays the heritage of this area of California via a mixture of static exhibits and special exhibitions. Something a little more interactive comes in the form of Calico Ghost Town. This is a recreated silver mining community, which has been completely restored including a working miner’s railway. Visitors are encouraged to explore the entire village and discover the history of the old mining west.

Riverside Parks, Community Centers & Outdoor Recreation

For nature lovers, the many parks and open spaces within the city can be a haven to many forms of wildlife. A little further out can be found the Chino Hills State Park, which contains over 60 miles of trails which can be explored. This area is noted as one of exceptional natural beauty.
